Dorwest Herbs Scullcap and Valerian tablets are a licensed herbal medicine for the symptomatic relief of anxiety, nervousness, excitability and travel sickness, and an adjunct in the treatment of epilepsy.

It is particularly effective for dogs and cats suffering from noise phobias, anxiety related travel sickness and hyperactivity. Skullcap and Valerian tablets are safe for long or short-term use and will not cause drowsiness, sedate or impair normal behaviour or performance.

The tablets are sugar coated for easy administration and can be fed directly into the mouth or added to the daily feed. They are also safe to be given in conjunction with other orthodox treatments and herbal products and can be given from 8 weeks of age.

For severe cases the tablets can be used in conjunction with our Organic Valerian Compound. Not recommended for pregnant or lactating females. Dosage: 1 -2 tablets per 5kg bodyweight daily. For one off occasions use 2 tablets per 5kg of bodyweight 12 hours before and again 2 hours before the desired effect is required.

This worked well for my Whippet's anxiety during unsettling times. However, we didn't find it effective for our other dog whilst she was going through a highly stressful convalescence period (and no she wasn't in pain). For separation anxiety, we have found it effective when used in conjunction with a Thundershirt and DAP spray. Using these three things have allowed us to leave our Whippet on his own, without our other dog, for 2-hours without any barking or whining (we record him). So, from my experience, it works for low-medium stress.

I have a 13 year old collie x who has had in the past the odd fit but also suffers from being left even for a short time i.e. barks a lot. Since giving him scullcap and valerian tablets he has not had any more fits and is also more relaxed when being left (this of course has been verified by my immediate neighbours). I would definitely recommend this as opposed to Zylkene which is more of a potent drug, scullcap being more herbal.

I have an dog with Epilepsy - Dorwest Scullcap & Valerian tablets were recommeded for my him and I'm certain these help keep his seizures under control along with a drug prescribed by my Vet.

I bought this product for my 8yr old rescue trail hound who is very deaf {but can hear loud noises) and very nervous. Since taking these tablets daily, so far for only 2.1/2 weeks her confidence has increased tremendously, she didn't like going for a walk because of the traffic, didn't like the dark, loud bangs spooked her. Now she is quite happy going for a walk, is getting used to the dark, still not used to loud bangs, but it is early days yet. She is a much happier dog. I can thoroughly recommend these tablets.

The difference this has made to my cat is amazing! He has always been nervous but has recently been diagnosed with noise phobia, which triggers off spasms which mean he is unable to pass water. Three emergency visits to the vet later I decided to try and do something about his nerves and this product kept popping up time and again on my searches. I decided to try it on him and within a day of starting him on these (1 twice a day), he was much calmer. Within a week, he had stopped jumping at every noise around and he is so much easier to live with! As a fringe benefit, the Valerian in this has anti-spasmodic properties. I can't praise this product enough. I wish I'd known about it years ago - it would have saved me and my cat so much stress! Top marks.
