Royal Canin Hepatic Dry Food for Cats is a nutritionally balanced vet diet for cats to support their liver function and reduce the amount of copper in their liver, in the case of Chronic Liver Insufficiency.

Made with a patented combination of antioxidants and highly digestible vegetable proteins to protect cells and strengthen your cat’s natural defences, Royal Canin Hepatic Veterinary Diet is suitable for the following conditions:
Cholangitis (previously known as Cholangiohepatitis), Portosystemic Shunts, Hepatic Encephalopathy, Liver Failure, Hepatic Copper Accumulation

Key Benefits:

  • Vegetable Protein: Highly digestible vegetable proteins are better tolerated in dogs with hepatic encephalopathy
  • Low Copper: A low copper with increased zinc content aims to minimise intracellular copper accumulation and thus hepatocellular injury
  • High Energy: Avoids protein catabolism and the loss of body condition common to hepatic patients
  • Antioxidant Complex: Helps neutralise free radicals and slow down hepatocyte deterioration

Rice, Animal Fats, Maize, Wheat Gluten, Dehydrated Pork Protein, Maize Gluten, Vegetable Fibres, Hydrolysed Animal Proteins, Minerals, Chicory Pulp, Fish Oil, Soya Oil, Fructo-Oligo-Saccharides (FOS), Hydrolysed Yeast (Source of Mannan-Oligo-Saccharides), Marigold Extract (Source of Lutein)

I bought this for an older cat with liver disease. He is not that keen on eating it dry so i mix it with wet food.He suffers from a sensitive stomach but has had no problems with this food.
