I have never had a problem with Advantage and I have been using it for years but I only use it when my dogs have fleas not every month as I have done it that way before and the fleas I'm sure adjust to it! I will put it on once every other month and it works perfectly!
As of October 2023, this stuff doesn't work with the current fleas. Applied this to a 21kg dog and the fleas simply ignore it. Better get Fipranil this season of mild autumn.

I am upset with the lack of results.. my dog still has fleas after treatment. In fact I treated him twice wwnd July and 3rd August, which is possibly an overdose.. and I still find fleas on him. Advantage did not work at all!! I can not recommend it at all

I find this a lot more effective than Frontline / fipronil based products which had stopped working. A great over the counter product although the best in my opinion is Stronghold but it's only available on prescription.
We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. The beagle is generally more resistant to fleas than the spaniel but just days after Frontlining her I could see fleas running through the surface of her coat, never happened before and she doesn't like being brushed at all! My spaniel likes to roll over and have her tummy tickled, which isn't a pleasant experience when all you see is a mass of fleas running through her coat, and I had to do something. She is a typical spaniel and part trained gundog so spends a lot of time in and out of long grass, hedges and other countryside where she picks up fleas. My neighbour told me, after I had already ordered this, that she had gone over to this for her cat and said it worked a treat. I can say that just hours after applying the treatment my spaniel was scratching a lot but there were loads of dead and dying fleas dropping off her. 24 hours later I have combed her and cannot find a single flea and the dog has stopped scratching. I am immensely impressed and my pets are a lot happier. I will also be recommending my neighbour to buy her products from you online as the prices are much cheaper than the vets.
I don't / never write reviews but felt obliged to share my experience. I have experienced the worst 4 month period for fleas on my Cockerpoo. I would clean the house top to bottom, I used bombs, sprays and frontline flea treatment. Nothing worked until I used two products firstly the advantage 250 and a spray for the house, the spray was Indorex. The fleas were eradicated instantly, I haven't seen a flea for over 3 weeks so far. I picked these products from other reviews on VetUK who supplied the products really quickly and I am so impressed with the value for money. Frontline didn't work for me, if you are in the same position use Advantage and Indorex.

I have 11 dogs and 6 cats (as I take in many rescue waifs & strays) and have recently had a lot of itchy creatures in the house, many of them biting themselves so much they made themselves sore and in some cases bald in patches, although I never found any fleas on them there was obviously a problem. I tried Stronghold from the vet but they were still scratching, so I tried Advantage from the vet and used Indorex spray in the house. I also wormed all dogs and cats to try to break the life-cycle of the fleas. All in all I spent over £350 at the vets on these products within the space of 2 months. Thankfully, the Advantage/Indorex did the job and they stopped scratching but when a friend recommended your site I was overjoyed as I have just placed an order for Advantage and have saved myself a fortune - I would say around half the price which is fab ..... no longer can my family and friends cry "you can't afford all those animals" as an excuse for me not taking in any more in need of a good home! My only criticism is that the products are sold in packs of 4 only - many of my dogs and cats are different weights so I am having to order more than I need (although I appreciate that they will 'keep' so can be used in subsequent months) this would be alleviated if you were to sell pipettes individually. Thanks VetUk, I'll certainly be ordering from you again.
Ordered this for a friend now it has come off prescription; she was paying nearly twice the amount for this from her vets. She's really happy with it and it works well on her two collies, even though she has cats in her house as well - cats tend to harbour fleas.
