Regular monitoring of sand levels in your horse's faeces is vital in managing and preventing sand colic, a serious condition that can affect your horse's health. The Westgate Labs Sand Test Kit allows you to track and manage sand intake by providing clear results through its sedimentation tests, enabling early detection and timely intervention to maintain your horse’s well-being.

Due to the variability in gut movement, the faecal sand test may sometimes produce a false negative, showing no sand even if your horse carries a burden. If the first test shows no sand, it's advisable to take a second sample a few days later. If sand is detected in the initial test, the second can be used after management changes to monitor improvement.
