We were making our annual visit to Scotland, in an area known to be high risk for ticks, so we applied this to our two beagles five days before travelling. Living in the city, we don't usually treat for ticks, as they tend not to be a problem in the concrete haven where we live. We would normally get Advantix from our vet before travelling to this part of Scotland, but this was considerably cheaper at the time of purchase, so we decided to give it a go. It's easy enough to apply, and no different to any other spot on treatment. All good so far. However, we've been back from Scotland for four days now, and I've found ticks on my dogs literally every single day since. One fully engorged beastie had dropped off, having had its fill, and was wandering merrily across my living room carpet. It showed no signs of being affected by Effipro at all, and seemed quite happy with itself. Enough was enough, and I booked an appointment with my vet to grovel for forgiveness and ask for Advantix for our next trip to Scotland.Effipro may be fine in low to medium tick risk areas, but I would in no way recommend this to anyone in a high risk area.

I stopped using Frontline as I found after ten years of working well it stopped working altogether. After using this product neither dog has fleas. Also no ticks stayed on them after walking in an infested woodland. Did take hours to dry on their coats though which was a nuisance as my puppy wants to play with my other dog and I have had to stop them play fighting together for a whole day.

I changed to this product because the fleas on my 2 dogs and a cat, seem to have become immune to Front Line which I have used for about 13 years successfully. However, since I have changed to Effipro the fleas are gone and no return. I have used this product for approximately 3 years now and would recommend.

Good value for money and seems to work fine on springer and working cocker who are always in and out of the water and knee deep in bracken. I use every 4 weeks and check for tics none so far so I am very pleased with the product two years running.
