Drontal Wormers have been especially developed to kill every type of intestinal worm commonly found in all breeds of dog and cat within the UK. Intestinal worms can cause serious health problems for both pets and humans, but by regularly worming your cat or dog every month, or your puppy every 2 weeks, you can significantly reduce the risk and give yourself peace of mind.
Drontal Wormers are presented as an extremely palatable tablet for both cats and dogs that can easily be broken into halves for easy and accurate dosing. There is also a liquid form that can be given to puppies to make dosing as easy as possible.
Preventing your cat or dog from having worms is very difficult, however, there is one thing you can do to reduce the risk substantially, worm regularly with Drontal Wormers preferably every month. Drontal kills all normal UK worms before they cause health problems and limits the spread of worm eggs in the environment. Don't forget this can also been done by scooping your pets poop.
Drontal Tasty Bone, now beef flavoured, has been the UK's number one wormer for many years. Drontal works as a single dose being given with or without food. For larger dogs Drontal XL should be used, and one tablet can worm a 20kg dog so no need to give multiple Drontal tablets. Unweaned puppies are hardly ever infected with tapeworms, but they are particularly at risk from roundworms, transmitted both via their mother's milk and from other pups in the litter. Drontal Liquid Wormer for Puppies is a highly palatable, easily administered liquid and should be used every fortnight, up until weaning.
Drontal Cat tablets and Drontal Cat XL tablets kill every type of intestinal worm your cat is ever likely to get and both will do so with a single dose without having to starve your cat first. The difference is that the Drontal Cat Tablets are for cats weighing 6kg and under, while Drontal Cat XL Tablets are specially formulated for cats that weigh 6kg and over.
To avoid worms reaching maturity and affecting your pet's health, and to reduce public health risks, you should worm your pet regularly. Worming at least every month with Drontal will reduce this risk, but ask your vet who will be able to evaluate your pet's health and your family's requirements and advise you on a specific worming routine for your pet. Don't forget the flea control! Fleas are often infected with the larvae of the Flea Tapeworm, which can be transferred to your cat by swallowing the flea while grooming. So in order to control worms, you also need to control fleas. A spot-on treatment is the easiest way to protect your cat – but you may also need one that kills flea larvae in your pet's surroundings, to effectively break the flea lifecycle. If you don't control a flea problem at the same time as worming, your cat is almost certain to be re-infected.
