I wasn't expecting much for the price of this, but was actually pleasantly surprised! The plastic tube is sturdier than I expected and I love the large ring perches, the birds prefer these type than the stick perches. The down side is that with a flip top like this, the joints which allow the lid to bend open wear and break over time meaning the lid becomes detachable and more easy to lose. I place some weather proof tape over the lid each time I replace the seed to ensure the lid stays on-you just have to make sure it's well stuck down and that it can't get stuck to the birds feathers at all. Another thing I've found is that larger seeds like whole sunflower hearts don't fall down to the openings, they get stuck further up the tube unless you regularly shake them down, so this feeder is better for the smaller bird seeds and maybe sunflower heart chips and nibs rather than the whole seeds, I'm going to try those next. Overall a great feeder especially for people who love to feed and watch the birds but are on a budget and for those just starting out bird feeding
