Brought two bags of this for my large breed dog, he loves it. Stools no different to Hills k/d. However I was very disappointed when I called to ask more information on the phone, there was not a hint of knowledge about the product. The MOST important thing to look at is the phosphorous and I couldn't find out what is included. Hills is 0.33%, looking at this packet this is potentially 0.5% which is a fair bit high for a food labelled for RENAL purposes. However once on this food for 6 weeks I will be having the bloods taken to see how my dog is doing. No point buying cheap if it doesn't work... I really hope it does though as when our dogs are so ill every bit helps financially.
Subsequent medical checks have shown that this specialist product has fulfilled the hopes of both my Vet and myself.
Cheaper and Allie thinks it tastes better than Royal Canin.
I bought this for my Yorkie who is on a renal diet to give her some variety. Unfortunately the kibble size is too big for her. Each piece is four times heavier than Royal Canin renal diet. So I have no idea if it does the same asRoyal Canin because she refuses to tackle anything bigger than her current kibble. My poodles are helping out in eating it as a snack.
After using their kidney supplement for my dog, I was pleased to see VetUK bring out their own renal food. The kibble is larger than other renal brands but that didn't phase my almost 12 year old Yorkie, who picks out the VetUK kibble to eat first!! He's been through a 2kg bag with no problems. I mix it in with the Hill's wet food. Much cheaper than leading brands and, apparently, more appealing to dogs too!
Really tasty food - my dog has had no problems switching over from his old food. Much cheaper than the Hill's KD food I had been using.
