Giant breeds tend to have a growth peak which occurs around 4-5 months and the maximum energy requirement is reached at 7 months old. It is extremely important to provide a giant breed puppy with these specific nutritional requirements from 2 – 6 months old to prevent nutritional errors which can seriously harm the physical development of the dog.
