Lapizole is a palatable, oral liquid for administration to rabbits only. It provides prevention and treatment of infections caused by the parasite Encephalitozoon cuniculi (E. cuniculi). E. cuniculi can cause head tilt, partial or complete paralysis, seizures and potentially death.

Lapizole contains fenbendazole, is flavoured with aniseed and rabbits love the taste. One pack is sufficient to give a full course to an adult rabbit (up to 3.6kg).

Administration: 0.5 ml (half a syringe) per 0.5 kg bodyweight. This is equivalent to 20 mg fenbendazole per kg bodyweight. Treatment should be continued at this rate once daily for 28 days. Do not overdose. Shake the bottle well before each daily administration.


Rating

This product contains the same ingredient as Panacur but comes in a different concentration. I tried using this for my rabbits as it worked out a bit cheaper however I went back to Panacur Rabbit Paste because it was easier to give. This Lapizole is a runny liquid but you have to give quite a lot of it, 2.5ml in my case, which is a lot for a rabbit. The Panacur paste is only a small amount and I find it easier to get in their mouth.
