Dolpac wormer is a new multi-wormer for dogs, containing the three active ingredients Oxante, pyrantel and praziquantel which are active against the most common roundworm and tapeworm species found in UK dogs. Dolpac is available in three flavoured tablet strengths: Dolpac for Small Dogs weighing up to 6Kg, Dolpac for Medium Dogs weighting up to 20Kg and Dolpac for Large Dogs weighing up to 75Kg.

Dolpac worming tablets are available in three strengths. Dolpac Tablets for Small Dogs containing 40.06mg Oxantel (equivalent to 111.8mg of oxantel embonate) 9.99mg Pyrantel (equivalent to 28.8mg of pyrantel embonate) and 10.00mg Praziquantel, Dolpac Tablets for Medium Dogs containing 200.28mg Oxantel (equivalent to 559mg of oxantel embonate), 49.94mg Pyrantel (equivalent to 144mg of pyrantel embonate) and 50.00mg Praziquantel and Dolpac Tablets for Large Dogs containing 500.70mg Oxantel (equivalent to 1397.5mg of oxantel embonate), 124.85mg Pyrantel (equivalent to 360mg of pyrantel embonate) and 125.00mg Praziquantel.

Dolpac is used for the curative treatment of dogs harbouring mixed parasitic infestations with the following adult stages of nematode and cestode species, Nematodes: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Trichuris vulpis; Cestodes: Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Echinococcus multilocularis, Echinococcus granulosus at the recommended dose rate is 20 mg oxantel/5mg pyrantel/ 5 mg praziquantel per kg bodyweight. Administer the required number of tablets, according to bodyweight, orally, in a single administration. Preferably, dogs should be fasted prior to treatment. Food may be given one hour or more after treatment. Tablets can be divided into equal halves.

Fleas serve as intermediate hosts for one of the common tapeworms- Dipylidium caninum. Tapeworm infestation may reoccur unless control of intermediate hosts (fleas) is undertaken. In some animals, Ancylostoma caninum and Toxocara canis may not be totally eradicated by the treatment, resulting in a continued risk of egg shedding into the environment. Follow-up examinations of the faeces are advisable and according to the results of these examinations, treatment with a nematodicidal product may be carried out if necessary.

The product is not recommended for use in pups younger than two months old or weighing less than 1kg. Vomiting and diarrhoea may be observed following treatment. Despite not being observed in studies performed with the product, anorexia can occur as it is a common adverse effect of products containing praziquantel. The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established during pregnancy and lactation. The use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation. Do not use simultaneously with levamisole, piperazine or choline esterase inhibitors.
