This works quite well on my rather nervous cat. I use it in conjunction with the Beophar Calming cat treats in times of particular stress.
We have an 18 year old rescue cat who has always been very nervous and was being intimidated by a neighbour's young cat to the extent she will only venture into the garden if accompanied and would not use her litter tray. Since using Feliway diffuser and spray. She has become much calmer and there are fewer "accidents"..
Excellent product. In a 5 cat household one of my male cats who is castrated constantly sprayed all around the house. My vet recommended trying a Feliway diffuser. Within a few days of installing the Feliway diffusers (one on the upstairs landing and one in the kitchen/diner) the spraying stopped. He has now not sprayed in the house for a month. I am delighted to order Feliway refills especially at the price offered by VetUK.
Excellent product. My vet suggested we try the Feliway diffusers after very expensive vet bills due to seagulls attacking my cat where we live (which is at least 200 miles from the sea. Helps calm him down & used Feliway now for several months. A must for all cats if in distress.
I have a male cat that was a stray until we took him in. He has a very volatile temperament and can be quite aggressive. He does not respond well to changes or disruptions in his environment and we had begun to despair. I bought a Feliway diffuser from VetUK and the difference was amazing. He became a much happier cat in a matter of only a few days. He feels more secure and is nowhere near as aggressive. His aggression is now that of a normal well adjusted cat (i.e. he gets grumpy every now and then but who desn't?). I can tell from his general behaviour, the way he walks with his tail high in the air, the way he relaxes and doesn't jump at every noise etc. That he is much more confident and I believe this is down to the Feliway diffuser. It isn't going to transplant your cat's personality, but it does help them to feel more confident, more secure and less afraid. Feliway certainly works for our cat. He does not need it all of the time, but I try to use it when I know that there is a stressful situation coming up for him and it helps him to deal with it better. Definitely worth giving a go, but remember, it isn't a cure all, so it is also worth trying to ascertain what is making your cat nervous as a root cause as well as using the Feliway diffuser.
One of my cats became highly stressed last year due to changes in the neighbourhood. He developed cystitis, he overgroomed and excessively scratched at himself resulting in skin infections. He also started spraying in the house. We had many trips to the vets to treat the symptoms but I had to do something to prevent this from recurring as he is highly strung anyway. Feliway is one of the products which my vet recommended but I didn't buy it from them as it was so expensive. Having used VetUK many times I knew I'd find Feliway here at a much better price. My cat is now healthy, has ceased his stressed behaviour and is much calmer. Many thanks!
Good product that really works, all 5 of my cats have benefited greatly from the Feliway diffuser during extensive building work and the arrival of a grandchild!
I bought Feliway after adopting two semi feral kittens. My older cat started spraying in house and within two days of plugging the Feliway diffuser in the spraying stopped. Have used Feliway ever since and never had any more problems.
I didn't really believe Feliway would work - but it does! My cat lets me know when it is time to plug in a Feliway refill. He is 20 years old and suffers from dementia which causes him to be very vocal, to say the least. My vet suggested I try a Feliway diffuser and I'm glad I did. It really calms him down.
Didn't believe Feliway could really make a difference but my rather neurotic Siamese boy would be impossible to live with without the Feliway diffusers, I always know when a new Feliway refill is needed as his behaviour gets worse and then within a day of replacing the vial he starts to calm down again.
