WORTH IT - BE SURE TO DO YOUR RESEARCH Although VetUK offered by far the best price on this gadget, £91 was still a major outlay for me. To help me decide before purchasing, I read well over 100 reviews from various sellers around the web, UK & abroad. Here's my summarised list of dis/advantages: CON: cost of gadget, cost of disposable litter inserts required to operate gadget (at least £10 ea in perpetuity because you can't use ordinary clay litter), size of gadget, access to electric socket required, concerns that my cats might not take to it PRO: no cleaning involved (just bin the inserts when full), significantly reduces odour, runs quietly, contains loose bits of litter so they're not tracked all over carpet, my cat-sitter likes the convenience of single-use inserts. As sold, I would give it 3 stars out of five. There are a few enhancements that I use to make it even better: a 'forever' non-disposable insert made of plastic and not sold by the manufacturer, which works great, is easy to clean, more eco-friendly and much cheaper than constantly throwing away the used inserts; always using crystal litter as recommended; regularly checking the waste trap; employing the 'rake & stir' method of tidying the box between litter changes. TOP TIP: keep the packaging (useful in case you need to return the item, otherwise can make into large fun cardboard cat toys). In the end, using these enhancements, I am very happy with this product and would give it 4.5 stars out of five.
